Round-Up City greetings from Pendleton on Wheels! We are a group of fun-loving folks from Pendleton, Oregon who will be riding our bicycles across the northern tier of the United States – 4,322 miles from Anacortes, Washington to Bar Harbor, Maine – beginning in June and ending in August, 2009.
Along the way we will be blogging about our experiences and sharing lots of photos, so please check back often! (Or, for those who use RSS readers, consider syndicating our blog using the “Feeds” links on the upper-right corner of this page)
In the meantime, check out our Cast of Characters page for a closer look at the folks soon to embark on this grand adventure.
please hook-up a planned route map—maybe through mapquest or something—and by the way are you taking a gps unit to navigate or record?—i have one i would lend to the project if wanted—
Marshall and Ann . . . I plan to ‘travel’ with you this summer . Sounds SO exciting ! ! ! My prayers will be with you for safety, fun, good health, etc. . . . Blessings to you both – – Karen
Have a wonderful trip! I’ll be following you all pedal stroke by pedal stroke.
hi john,
thank you so much for your donation to parkinsons. you are the best.
it is so neat to see people in our biking community send notes of encouragement along the way. it is getting close and we are all getting really excited.
see you on the trail

I have the pure joy of having Susie Petersen for a sister, Mark for a brother-in-law. They carry the banner for our family as they pedal across the US on their bikes. Knowing them both as we do, they will make it with style. Good luck to all of you Oregonian cyclists.

Hi Suzi & Chuck,
Great to be following your adventure! Keep a list of good antique shops Suzi! Take photos on snowy peaks(if you find any) and buffalo if you see any!!! Ride safe and remember, sampling the ice cream along the way is a worthy project and to be documented too! Hope your finger feels better Suzi. Be safe and “Happy Trails”, Hugs, Sylvia and Shirlee
Hi Sue and Mark,

hi girls,
this is one fantastic trip. beats riding up cabage two or three times in in ride. hahaha. the scenery has been great the climbs tough (but me being the youngest, no problem) we are so suprised that so many people are following us. keep up the good fibs.
also, thank you for making a donation to parkinson’s. that is so kind of you. it certainly is a great cause, but i am not biased.
take care and hugs back to you both

Hi Suzi!
This is my second note to you…I learning how to blog! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you find a good place to eat cake!
Enjoy your special day:) Jane
The RAC has a great display of where you guys are. I had to walk around the crowd gathered in front of it. They are posting your daily blogs. Who’s authoring the blog? It’s incredible writing with great discriptions…almost feels like I’m there! We’re holding down the fort here in Pendleton…early morning weekday rides for the ladies are in the works. I love the Dam Hill to Pilot Rock ride and did it Monday morning. Saw a baby fawn! Tell Cole! And tell Cole awesome on his 10 mile ride!
Hi to all!
Hey. The pictures look great. I’m missing not being there with you guys. Saw the wall at the RAC yesterday where they are following you. Your the talk and buzz of the town. Be safe and keep the comments and pictures coming. Herb
As a friend of Duke and Darlene Ralston, I’m following your progress and admiring your determination. Best wishes for a successful and mostly dry ride!
Congratulations on getting to the first 1000 miles. You all are really moving along. Hope you can get ahead of all those misquitoes. Nice going.
